Welcome to Amherst Brighton

Amherst Brighton is a boutique hotel located in the vibrant Kemptown area of Brighton and Hove, just steps away from the picturesque seafront. With a commendable rating of 3.7, this establishment has earned a reputation for providing comfortable, well-equipped accommodations at an affordable price.

The rooms reflect a decent standard of cleanliness and comfort, featuring thoughtfully designed mini kitchens, complete with two hobs, a fridge that includes a freezer box, and a microwave that doubles as a convection oven and grill. Guests like Chris Churcher appreciate the convenience of having essential kitchenware, though he notes the absence of pans, urging future guests to bring their own or check the nearby second-hand shop that often stocks useful items.

For those traveling on a budget, Robert Adamson's review highlights the value found at Amherst Brighton. He praises the well-equipped room, enjoying the luxury of a proper fridge rarely seen in hotels above the £100 price range. The hotel's location enhances the experience, with many attractions like Brighton Palace Pier and the Royal Pavilion easily accessible within a leisurely stroll.

However, not everything is perfect. Despite the overall amenities, some guests have mentioned minor inconveniences, such as the gap between the floor and door in certain rooms, which can allow noises from outside to enter. Yet, the hotel's strengths, including free Wi-Fi and proximity to beach access, make it an attractive choice. Although it lacks features like a pool, air-conditioning, or an on-site restaurant, the inviting atmosphere and kid-friendly environment are definite pluses for families visiting the area.

What truly sets Amherst Brighton apart is its ideal location and the sense of local charm it exudes. Whether you're up for a fun day at Brighton Pier, exploring the historical Royal Pavilion, or enjoying the scenic views from the Brighton i360, Amherst Brighton serves as a cozy base for all your adventures. For visitors seeking a blend of comfort, affordability, and an authentic Brighton experience, this hotel is certainly worth considering.

The rooms are of a decent standard, mostly clean, comfortable and quite well equipped with a very well conceived mini kitchen including 2 hobs, a fridge with freezer box and a microwave sporting a convection oven and grill inside. Plates, bowls, drinking vessels and cutlery are in the cupboards but no pans though, so pack your own or failing that there is a second hand store up the road often selling used pots and pans. The omission of pans and the really old and undersized non smart TVs are the reason for 4 not 5 stars on the rooms, but despite that I'd rather stay here than the other 2 hotels with names beginning with 'A' close by. Service is only via email but very prompt, professional and friendly nonetheless so no complaints there, both queries I've had were responded to courteously within 5 minutes and to my complete satisfaction. Housekeeping staff very friendly and helpful. Convenience store up the road, beach down.

Can't go too wrong at their price range. Room was comfotable and well equiped, love having a proper fridge with a freezer section (don't get that at hotels upwards of £100). All in all would very happily stay here again, price and location are fantastic. Only issue I would mention is the gap between the floor and door in the room I stayed in, with an intermittent motion light outside I ended up piling clothes to block light getting in the room.
